Am I entitled to a written statement for reasons for dismissal?
If you have at least two years' service with your employer you have the right to request a written statement of the reasons for your dismissal. Your employer has 14 days to reply to the request, unless it is not reasonably practicable for it to do so.
If you are dismissed during pregnancy, maternity or adoption leave, you have an automatic entitlement to a written statement without having to request it. This is the case regardless of your length of service.
